The ECO4 grant scheme is backed by the UK government, which came into force in August 2022 and will continue until 31st March 2026. Do you know ECO3 & ECO4?
The ECO3 scheme ran from 2018 to 2022 which was intended to provide grant benefits to low-income households. The main focus of this scheme was to turn the least energy efficient houses into safe and warm homes to alleviate fuel poverty.
Now, this scheme has been replaced by ECO4 that aims at providing a larger funding range for vulnerable households to improve their home’s energy efficiency and heating. Moreover, the assessment process for eligibility check corresponding to this grant is also one week which was previously four weeks for the ECO3 scheme. Based on its minimum energy efficiency guidelines, this scheme has positively impacted almost 2.3 million homes since 2013.

What is ECO free boiler scheme?
The Government ECO boiler scheme has been introduced to help low-income and vulnerable households replace inefficient and broken heating systems with efficient ones. In this way, the government intends to help people make their homes energy efficient with enhanced savings on energy bills.
How does the ECO4 scheme differ from ECO3?
The ECO3 concluded in March 2022, after which the ECO4 scheme became effective. The main difference between these two schemes is that there are some qualifying benefits which are no longer eligible under ECO4.
